Hostel Bond Agreement

I, [Your Full Name], hereby acknowledge and agree to the terms and conditions outlined in this Hostel Bond Agreement. As a resident of a Ghana Communication Technology University (GCTU) approved hostel, I commit to abiding by all hostel and university rules and regulations. I understand that any violation of these rules may result in disciplinary action, including repayment and charges for any items or properties damaged by me.

Terms and Conditions (herein referred to as 'Rules')

  1. Behavioural Expectations:

    I shall conduct myself in a respectful and responsible manner, treating fellow residents, staff, and hostel property with courtesy and consideration.

  2. Compliance with Rules and Regulations:

    I shall abide by all hostel and university rules and regulations as outlined in the student handbook. Failure to comply shall result in disciplinary action.

  3. Hostel Property: I shall not engage in activities that may cause damage to hostel property.
  4. Payment for Damages: In the event of damage to hostel property, I agree to promptly reimburse Welbeck Hostel for the full cost of repairs or replacement. The hostel reserves the right to report my conduct to the university and seek legal redress until payment for any property or item damaged by me is made.
  5. Vacation: I agree to pack out all my personal belongings during vacation to allow cleaning and necessary maintenance works to be carried out in the room. If I choose to leave my personal belongings at the hostel, I do so at my own risk, as the hostel shall not be held liable for any loss of items that may occur.
  6. Key Submission: During vacation, I agree to submit the hostel key to the Hostel Manager. Failure to do so shall result in my expulsion from the hostel.
  7. Non-Hostel Residents/Visitors: I shall ensure all my visitors (male or female) leave the hostel premises by 11:00 pm. Failure to abide by this rule will result in a surcharge of GHS 200 per day per visitor. All visitors must report at the reception area with a nationally recognized identity card for clearance in line with the Anti-Money Laundering Act/regulations in Ghana.
  8. No Smoking: Smoking in the hostel is banned, and any form of drug abuse will not be tolerated and will be treated as a criminal offense.
  9. Group Meetings: No group meetings are allowed in rooms. Group meetings shall be allowed at the study conference room and other designated areas. Parties and other celebrations can only be done with the express approval of the hostel manager, 7 days prior to the event.
  10. Gas Stoves: Students are to get their gas cylinders to use the stoves provided in some rooms.
  11. Electrical Gadgets: The use of electrical gadgets, especially electrical stoves, is strictly forbidden.
  12. Security Deposit: Please make a refundable security deposit of GHS 200.00 to cover any potential damages during your stay at the hostel.
  13. Additional Incentives for Hostel Residents: Our hostel offers various incentives to support our students' holistic stay and personal development:
    • Spiritual Growth: Evening prayer sessions on Sundays.
    • Business Development: Seminars for business owners and managers every Friday.
    • Holistic Leadership: Aiming to develop leaders for Ghana and Africa.
    • Professional Experience: Arranging industrial attachments and counseling sessions.
    • Academic and Entrepreneurial Support: Providing periodic seminars and workshops at no cost.
    Note: Participation in these activities is entirely optional for residents.
